				Hey y'all

Longtime lurker at SCD, and just wanted to say hello. I noticed there's little to no non-starcraft chat here and I just want to get to know the community a bit.

What do you guys do for a living?

I'm a physical therapist waiting to start my first job in June

 Hey that's cool to hear!
I did the first year of Physiotherapy here but I wasn't comfortable sacrificing personal space as much as the job would require.

oh god, that does sound absolutely terrible yeah. People can be so extremely petty at the end of relationships.

Work two jobs. Manage my family's small business during the day and deliver pizza at night.

I am also an investor in stocks/R.E and plan to retire in 7 - 8 years. Will give me more time to game once i'm retired :D

Cool man! I've read that it happens to a lot of people. Good thing you didn't pull through. I don't know how much school costs out of america, but in America, you would've been in A LOT of debt with a job you probably won't be happy with.

Awesome! Any books you recommend for a guy who knows NOTHING about investing?

There are two books I would recommend for starting: Psychology of money (Morgan Housel) and Along for the Ride (Owen Bigland).

The way I learn to invest from my mentor is by being a passive and long term buyer. This is probably the best way for most people so you can enjoy life and focus on your main career. Might take a good 10 hours to learn the basics but after you will be set for life.
