Banned for excessive BM, racism and frankly the most toxic stuff I've seen in years. He was given 3 warning by multiple admins, but continued to act out. The ban will last for the rest of season 1. He is also ineligible to receive any prize money. A ban appeal will have to be made if he wishes to participate in season 2.

Is this a serious post or is he really banned? Seems pretty harsh to me.. I don't think anyone on here takes Matt's comments to heart. They are more amusing to me.. He may not be the friendliest of players, but who cares a little trash talk didn't hurt no one :D You have to give him credit for dominating w/ Protoss and keeping the league competitive.
For those who don't feel confident with or have something against PvR, the solution is simple, come to an arrangement ahead of time.. Half of the set could be RvP the other half RvR, both players happy. I vote let him finish off the season.. Definitely not cool to pull the rug from under him after all the activity and hours he put in to being in the top spot.
If he pissed off the people who actually put up the prize money, that is a different story... Of course they have the say on where they want their money to go... But don't stop him from moving up in the ranks...

I'm actually very surprised. I can't remember any time Spartan (Kris) banned anyone for bm in VGT. Muting people yes, but banning from league? Don't remember a single time. This feels like TeamLiquid (I'm perm banned there, for you guessed it bm rofl) However, If you gave him multiple warnings... I don't see this being an over reaction. Sucks that he has to have such a bad character for being a good player.

There is no room for someone who is gonna be spewing garbage like he does left and right. Like I said, we gave him 3 different warnings. We were very direct and basically said if he made so much as a fart joke he'd be banned, but he can't control himself and therefore a decision was made to exclude him for the rest of the season. I don't care how active he is.. I'd rather have a dead league than one that is full of obnoxious children.

How is banning someone for continuing actions, that have been frowned upon and warned about to him on countless occasions, not right and a bad look for the league? I credit Sword and Stalker for making this decision as it's way over due. The guy clearly doesn't get it. He's been banned from every league at one point in time and always returns as the same bming, racist person. You know what is a bad look for this league and site, he is. If they don't act on his actions, that makes the site and league look bad. What's the point of warning someone on three separate occasions and then not following through with it? He's had ample opportunities to change and clean up his act and he can't seem to figure it out and left Sword and Stalker with no choice. The ball was in Matt's court and he failed as many of us predicted, as that's his history. This community doesn't need him, that's very clear. Sure he brings activity, but I could make an argument that he drives activity away with his bm and racism. It's sad to see that people are defending someone like this. He wasn't banned for saying "you suck" or "get good", which is the usual bm. He doesn't even hover around crossing the line, he blows right past the line of things he says to people. It's not warranted and not needed for an online game. The stuff he has said and posted, could be reported and probably be listed as harassment.

I never once stated in my response that Cole doesn't bm. WE all bm people, but not to the extent Matt takes it. You have no idea of what was said in the PMs to Cole. If you're simply taking Matt's word in that thread, that Coles PM was out of no where, you're pretty oblivious. It's very clear that Coles PM was a response, and Matt is on his second page of PMs. It takes a lot to get on the second page. It's obvious Matt wasn't banned for casual and simple BM. He was banned for things way beyond that. I think if you think about it a bit Mark and what's been said with Cole's and Matt's past, you can come to a conclusion about what the topic was. And if you don't think that's crossing a line, then that's pathetic.

His bm has nothing to do with gameplay ... if he hacked, abused, etc.. then sure ban him but if he's talking trash to someone just mute him. And the person he's bming can just squelch him on SC.. problem solved. No need to ban him.. ridiculous. If anything the admins are to blame for not muting this guy long ago it would've prevented this.

Dude as I just said, you have no idea what was sent to Cole through PM. As I also said it's not just your normal bm that he is saying. As I also said, everyone bms. But what Matt says isn't BM it's harassment. Just because YOU don't see what's being said, doesn't mean it isn't happening. The bm that is being said, isn't being relayed through SC, as Cole hasn't been playing. It's being sent via PM. You're right about one thing, the things he is saying has nothing to do with SC, so why is he saying it at all? They've muted Matt, that banned him for small amounts of times, nothing works or gets across to him. Matt left them with no choice. He had control of it all and he can't control himself, so now he can't play. He was warned multiple times and never cared to change. Clearly Matt was lying in his last thread when he says "I don't remember sending anything." He knows exactly what he sent and I bet he knows it crossed a line, that's why he didn't post the entire conversation. He only posted on response from Cole.
If you think this league is so poorly run for banning Matt for his actions (that never stopped no matter how many times he was warned) I suggest you go and create your own.

There's a lot of BM that's said that YOU don't see either lol but no one is dumb enough to take anything he says serious. And cole had every right to not reply back to those PMs but he did and bmed back so whats your point?
He was never muted.. he was just banned for 3 days which in my opinion going from 3-day ban to a season ban (or lifetime) is extreme.
I didn't say this league is poorly ran. I appreciate everything SworD has done probably more than you do.. but hopefully they can revise this because this isn't right

Okay man I don't know what else I can really say. I'm just repeating myself. Let me make one thing clear, I had nothing to do with this. It was as much of a surprise to me to see this thread as everyone else. This was Sword's and Stalker's decision, I am simply applauding them for making it. You're right, there is a lot of BM and a lot I don't see. But I doubt to the extent of what Matt has said. But if you or anyone else feel they are being attacked personally or harassed, bring it to the admins attention. He was banned for three days and warned three times, how many chances does this guy get? The point is and i'll say it for about the third time, it's not your standard BM. It's personal attacking and harassment. Everyone can handle standard BM because everyone does it. Matt doesn't just BM, and you know that.
It's up to Cole to expose the messages that were sent to him and no one else. That's his choice if he wants to do that or not. I don't know how that changes anything though. You should simply trust Stalker's and Sword's judgement, that what was said had to warrant a ban. If you know Sword like I do, he isn't one to just throw bans at anyone for nothing. If you're blaming Cole for running to the admins that's kind of low. You say a grown man would never do this, but would a grown man such as Matt do what he's doing? I don't think so.

Btw none of us knew kh-loop was cole, Sithlord's bm brought it out of him. And thats what bm is all about.. getting under the opponents skin and bringing them out of their game. Seems like it worked here.

If you're about to win the league and GM has already warned you about behavior, why push their limits? Just doesn't make sense to me. Yeah, the punishment might have been excessive or unjustified but ey, there are rules everywhere you go even on the internet.
Should have took it down a notch once you got the warning or at least waited until the season was over =/.

The website has very simple rules, and honestly we are pretty damn lenient about everything. We haven't had a problem with anyone else.
Even though i don't have time to deal with this, I'm going to show you a short compilation of things that were said that lead to his ban.

Also, multiple reports from korean users about him saying racist and typical robotoss phrases to them.
These are just a few examples of what robotoss has been doing (This list could literally be hundreds of quotes long), and to top it all off, he said all of this and we still didn't ban him.
3 warnings and a temp ban in, he showed no signs of slowing down. He continued personally attacking and trolling, so we decided that the best course of action was to ban him for the rest of the season.
He currently has a 16 day ban... essentially a "time-out". For those of you defending him, I understand why you might be a bit frustrated, but there was no other option. Its not like we are asking you to read a bible verse before every game... we just ask to keep the personal attacks and bullshit to a minimum.

Matt is actually a really friendly guy. He's only ever said nice things to me (even when I was smurfing and he had no idea who I was, so its not because of the admin thing). Talented gamer also. The problem is that he doesn't know how to handle BM or even moderate criticism without escalating it to a level that crosses the line and goes beyond what anyone else on this website would say. He brings a lot of activity and competition, but I've also heard accounts of people leaving (none that I can prove or reference) due to some of the things that he's said. So it's a difficult decision. At some point it becomes a matter of controlling the content of your website and what message it sends.
He is welcome back for another chance in season 2.

Matt has been banned from season 4 of SCW. He'll be able to ever play again in the future only if he convincingly demonstrates that the pattern of BM that he's exhibited in the last week will never happen again
