Considering there is a lack of "SCW Finals Tournament", I am hosting an Invitational Tournament for the Top 6 players with a prize of $200 Dollars! (feel free to donate to the pool). (100USD donated by Newbport)
Starting date: Once all 6 spots are accepted.
Format: Bo7 round-robin. A round-robin tournament (or all-play-all tournament) is a competition in which each contestant meets all other contestants in turn. Person with the most Bo7 Set wins, wins the tournament. If there's a tie we get a tie breaker!
Top 6 players at the end of the season post/say in this thread that they want to participate.

4. J.H - confirmed
5. GoldSCV - confirmed

I honestly think ZerG/JosE should just be replaced now.
He has dodged/stalled in the past and will probably do it again. His overall behavior and manners are terrible too, there are plenty of great players at his caliber or higher that won't stall the tournament.
I hate to see tournaments ruined by scumbags that won't cooperate.

Mandigo definitely should play for be the most player active of the season.
If we talk about cheating, kokane and kon played a tournament making the sword eliminate them, anyway be hacker can no longer in starcraft remastered so they can not judge that for the past, xtre x dodge to maximun, newport is new in scw, and he does not know many things.
Finally, I advised a bo5 and only the top 5 for shorter because it is an all against all so there is more possibility to finish it.
Now the advice is that they give only 2 days each round to play and if they have not played, stipulates one hour neutral as not to harm Korean, European and West players and if one of the two is not present give the victory 4-0 immediately the player present and continue with the other round.
This should be done in all tournaments and not be waiting, mainly for the single elimination format .
Doing an all against all for me is still better only a top4.
As it is not scheduled the optimal that all the games are played fast in a week, that the players are encouraged to play fast.

In one of the tournaments I hosted JoSe. stalled out by not communicating and not showing up when he said he would. He then also BM me for the remainder of the tournament.

Have already decided on a Bo7. I believe that with how active people have been this season that it is possible.
I am working out the details in regards to time limits and penalties.

Given it's a round robin that will be a LOT of matches for you to cast. I do want a report thread visible for people. I can send you the replays and you could avoid the thread.
You're of course free to observe games and cast them live given you're not lagging their game!

I am creating a report thread now, randomizing the rounds, and making an easy to understand score layout.

Tournament has started. I am trying a bit of a new experimental method for having people play against each other. I believe that in a round-robin format it is possible for the participants to play who they want in the order they want, when they can/want. By removing the restriction of having to play a specific person, in a specific order, I believe I am opening up the possibility of participants being able to play multiple participants within shorter amount of times. They are not restricted to waiting on the person they were told to play, but can play whoever is available at that time.
However, if this method fails I will switch over the remaining matches to a scheduled round system. Open for feedback and opinions.

This seems crazy and the potential for a ton of games. Someone could play a total of 35 games and that’s just the round robin? Like damn dude that’s a lot. This tournament will take forever with this format. And since half of the tournament is Korean, finding times for us to play them all for a b07 is going to be hard.

It is a rather ambitious tournament I agree. But I believe we have to try new things from time to time, see how it works and what can be learned and gained from its results. I will put my effort into making this work as smooth and well as possible. However, the biggest problem right now seems to be GoldSCV and J.H still having their drama going on in the background. They can play other people before they finish their set and calm down in the meantime.
The upside of this format is though, that you don't have to finish a set right away. If you're halfway through a set and one person is unable to continue, you can start a set against one of the other participants and finish the set at a later time. I believe this format is a very flexible one as long as scores and stats are tracked and documented.
For example, if you can only find the time to play one to three games a day vs a Korean on work days, you'll have almost completed a set or completed a set by Friday. In the meantime you can also play full sets against either Mandingo07 or Fire.AW23 who have more or less the same timezone as you do. You'd the be able to finish the Sets against Koreans in the weekend.

Also seeing how GoldSCV is already crying/stalling I think a single elimination style tournament would be best for this scenario.

I refer you to my previous post for my view on this, albeit it a bit optimistic. I am giving GoldSCV the chance to finish his othter sets before he continues playing J.H. He doesn't have to finish that set right away as long as he plays other people on the list.

Hardest part about single elimination is people have to play one specific person, usually within a set time frame for X amount of times. Here people are free to play whoever is in the tournament, when they can, how many times they can. The goal is that at the end, everybody has played all sets. The order in which the matches are played is irrelevant. A player can play each player once per day and it would finish within a week. Flexibility is its strength.
I want people to do it before other people start saying "It can't be done".

I played 93 games this season, the least out of all the participants. So you're expecting me to potentially play almost half of a seasons worth of games for me in a week? That's not happening.
I think this idea/format is a good idea if we were all pro gamers, but we're not. This is a hobby for at least myself, AW23, and Mandingo. I can't speak for the koreans as it seems like it is their career with how hard they go for money.

It was an example demonstrating how it would be possible. I am not expecting this to finish within a week. A little more than a week is perfectly fine. I expect most games played in the weekends. Neither am I expecting most of these sets to go to game 7. Mandingo played over 500 1v1 games. He is more than able to be active. AW23 played over 200 games and was frequently online playing Diplo. When you were invited you knew of the amount of games to be played.

They both share your timezone. Koreans can play Koreans during the weekdays, westerners can play westerns during the weekdays. In the Weekends you can play the Koreans. Your thinking is too narrow.

I believe Mandingo should be in. I've heard he's had sketchy play in the past, but one thing I give him is he is very active and doesn't seem to dodge anyone. On top of that, he is a good player.
Being new to the community and SCW, I'm perfectly fine with this list. Not sure why Maximum is not playing, as I think he's the #1 player right now, but I have played all the others up for consideration and all are very worthy. Should be a fun tourney. Good luck to everyone who's in.

Half the people aren't communicating or trying set up anything to play their games. I've asked for information so I can do that but only Koreans have given a response. GoldSCV and J.H are 2-2.
I will switch over to a regular bracket when I wake up tomorrow and no progress has been made. However, If tomorrow morning I feel a bit more patience is in place, then I will bet on the weekend to get this thing rolling.

I've seen you online ye, just communicate that you're online or when you will be online, so that others know and can adjust their schedule or come online. Koreans don't use America's on the battle.net client, so they don't know if you're online when you are. They also can't sit and wait in the channel hoping someone shows up.
Using "the channel bot viewer" (https://www.starcraftworld.net/index.php?action=league&mode=webbot&server=uswest) is a way of checking if someone is in the channel, but someone can be online and not presently be in the channel. Looking at the "users online" section of the website isn't very reliable either. It only shows who was online in the past hour. One could already have gone Offline by the time you see it and their name on it.

Round Robin was definitely the dream. Get everyone matched up against each other and have the best duke it out without any dodging. But there's just so little communication happening from some participants that I don't think it's going to work. Not because of the volume of the matches to be played, but because some people just aren't bothering to be part of it. Honestly have my doubts a single elimination will work unless I replace/remove some participants.
Things like "hey we share the same time-zone or almost similar time-zones, when do you have time to play?" was the least I expected.
I feel more for double elimination, but single elimination is simpler.

Mandingo plays 508 1v1 games in 6/8 of the season. Played 20 2v2 games. Is in channel 24/7 for 6 weeks. Accepts invitation knowing terms. All of a sudden never online. Communicates he will be but doesn't show up.
Least a person can do is, even if they're busy, is to notify the participants involved when person can be or will be or won't be online. Nothing to do with not having a life. It takes 1 minutes to go to the website, log in and post. Can be done from a phone.

Not bashin on you kon but these days everyone has a phone, even africans who live in the middle of no where have cell phones. It's not difficult to log on your account via your cell phone and say " hey guys, im busy today wont b able to play ". Hard to sympathize when people dont explain their situation.
I get that people are extremely busy, or shit happens, but all it takes is 1 comment for the rest to understand. Just say you can't and at least that way there is some communication. Even if that is BS, maybe the person is getting hammered, fine, whatever, but say something so that the other person doesn't waste his time waiting.
I think my point here is communication is the key and also your time as well as other's are valuable. Respect people's time, it's more valuable than money.

If you're going to sign up for a tournament at least have the pride and respect for both you and the opponent to come through and if you aren't, explain your position. We aren't animals. I know premier should be defending himself but Ima do it for him this time :D. Premier legit hosting you guys a tournament that will earn you MONEY for a GAME that you love and sincerely enjoy. How are you going to sit there and bash him, bro? That, to me, seems inconsiderate. He's been very flexible with the community and all he gets is hate and negativity. This same idea applies to sword. You guys treat these people like dog shit and don't respect what they do for you. In the end of the day, if they didn't host stuff like this you'd have no one to compete with, and 1 less hobby to distract yourself with. This site and tournament hosted personally is a luxury and yet people treat these people like trash. Try to look at it from the bright side. You have a game to play but not only to play but to get payed for it on a FASTEST map. How crazy is that? No one else is paying USD for you to play on the map of your preference(fastest) and honestly... no one will for a while after sword is gone, if ever. I don't get some of you guy's mentality sometimes. Idk if premier plays but the fact that he's willing to pull money out of his pocket for the sake of the fastest community's enjoyment says quite a bit about a person. He gains nothing out of this, go figure. Also, he spends mad time editing and keeping the post thread up-to-date with custom colors and shit... thats time consuming. So on top of him investing his own money he's also investing his time which in my opinion is the more valuable than money.
