Title: Who's was your Strategist before you started playing your own Style?
Post by: My.Mana on February 28, 2024, 05:29:07 pm
I'm curious who did you boys and girls learn from before creating your own cheese plays? Was it a Blizzard Developer or was it the Gaming Genius that enjoyed challenging all the best developers on their games? 😊

Many unknowns were created for future prospects from the information my (R)us team received to use as their AKA once they were done training but it was really rare to see them come to life though... :(

I don't know too much but I would tag up [VcK] if I had to choose an old clan from VGT and SCD! 🌝

If I was around the middle age days, I would've asked VcK instead of Pro for a training spot and tagged up as Thunder[VcK]. heheheh

vck was one of the top clans and you had to be a really good 1s or 2s player to be invited.

Irshad taught me first. Then tG.MilfHunter and then Ondra. After that it was Peter, Remnant and Hesing. Later on learned from Koreans.

Who that, Madara-?

You listed some MaFia. Players there! :O

My uncle doesn't remember too much but he said xS. was full of MaFia. players when one of them thought of a new tag that looked nice and everyone else just followed.

Edit; Uncle said some MaFia. Players stayed in the lights on [zT] and xS. and SilenT. but most of them went on an alias name.
ZeuZ is one them hiding still after this long... 🌚

I picked up the game watching people who were training on the East side play Public games when they weren't practicing in a private 1vs1 match, there were some very memorable names but I can't really remember it all.

SgT. [FuN] DE- vS. AoW-

It was a slow era right before East finally died out.

BattleCrui)S(er never sent his dogs out onto public games so I didn't get to see )S( play in public games much.. 😔
Pretty sure he was Tank)S( as well but who knows. 🤷‍♂️
Drug)S( was his butt buddy duo partner.
Most likely two La. Members on USWest. 🌝
Anyone know if MaRiNe)S( was Pro]Marine-? 😮
Who's around to tell a story? I was eyeing the Lotu)S( name! 😆

Edit; My record is ugly but if you watch the wins against the better players, you'll see how intense and near top level the win was for a new Broodwar enjoyer! ☺️

I'm still learning and improving slowly ass I incorporate the units I don't know too much about yet! Please no discrimination... LOLS 😆

Maphacking was really common and I feel like it's still common nowadays so I'm adapting to a maphackers playstyle slowly.

I had a bunch of people who "taught" me at different stages.

First was Pace]eP[ (Elite Playerz - a very big pub clan very early 2000's) taught me the basics of fastest.

The person to really sit down with me and assist with 1v1 strategies was G)A-String // sixthstring - we played probably 4-8 hours a day working on different counter builds and starts.

but I had plenty of different teachers at different times;

Gnarly[KaC] Would help me with micro vs rushes
9iNe]StK (xA.ChangDeWei) would mass games vs me to improve
LuNaTyK-RobTon (HiGHLorD) would help me PvP

(missing a lot of others but its been so god damn long lol)

Too many people to even begin to remember could even mention oftrees and tekniq would work on 2s with me.

The game is so old that if we look back five years from now, there wouldn't even be a fun story to talk about as no one new is coming in to learn the game from someone respectable except Koreans who are merging with the Western FMP players...

Is anyone up and coming on this League? Are the LeGenD players training anyone for a surprise shift in rankings later??? Is anything going on behind the scenes? 😮

Oh good to know, one less player to keep an eye out for when trying to win the season!

The memory is coming from my uncle's brain, it's not exactly accurate but I'm looking for the right storyline. ☺️

Saik was a big representative for Dt. as he was like the only one wearing the tag for awhile! LOL

I was running around with Yris and Arctic on our own division when we were DE- heheh 😊

Oftrees is Steve?

I'm not able to compete with the 200+ APM players so I've been trying to focus on brain knowledge over winning physically.

Kokanee was shining for a few years when Yris was playing and watching the FMP scene!

HyDrA came out of retirement and removed alot of the other Season Winners. 😂

EviL- is also from the Era Kokanee was reigning so this dude sure came up!

It's very hard to find a student willing to invest time into an old game like BroodWar but it's always a cool story when new names actually make it up the ladder as a good player!
We don't see many good players that can write a nice story anymore nor do they really know or care how to spread the game to a potential customer.

As Season 44 have started, let me share a trainee story that was almost successful in USEast!

His parents named him David and he was actually a genius compared to all his counterparts in every game he touched.
He came onto StarCraft Original at the age of 13 and right away he was chosen by one of the best training clans in USEast )S(!
He took on the name Fla)S(h and trained with Tank)S( and Drug)S( while guys like BattleCrui)S(er, Budwei)S(er, StringChee)S(e and many others watched the replays while guiding him to be even better.
It was unfortunate that he didn't move over to the competitive leagues after beating his instructors without trouble as he was extremely quick and witty!
He decided to leave the game at the age of 15 to hustle and get through college which landed him a Manager position at an impressive company today!!

I was nowhere near his level and still can't compare as I'm not much different now than I was then, such a shame the FMP community didn't get to see David Fla)S(h show out against some of the best around.. 🙁

It was delightful watching someone out age learn so fast and easily when he was guided properly! ☺️

I and Yris watched him together as we played with the others since we weren't invited to train under )S(.

The End. 😂

The quick games you see on my loss list, he was constantly ending our games like that and he was always relaxed like my wins on my win list c(:
