SCW58 - Format & Rule Changes

I bring you the solution: a map where you practically can't cram into the center, forcing you to micro-create, and it better balances positions 9 and 3 since they can't reach nuclear or tank attacks. It also reduces the number of entrances at positions 12 and 6, like the Korean ones.

A bit more balanced while keeping our map.

The rule wouldn't be necessary with this map.

I would rather micro and die then make 1000k cannons unless you want a flat ass game like ronins flat ass head aka Flatapuss

Maybe we should start to apply this rules in PPVPP and PVP 1V1
cuz will be kind hard to front of PP/PT being PZ knowing that making canon wall is most popular build order against those m/u , also what about drops , only 5 canons in base will be insane to defend against drops

i think it should be 5 cannons/sunks/bunkers at ur choke or in the middle of the map max. maybe 5-10 in ur base.

The playstyle should depend on the player, not the league: if a player wants to use canon, pick r or one race, abusing spots, etc.

If the league is going to dictate even how you should play, then they're tying the players' hands. Remember that each player's style is their own, and when you play, the one with the most efficient style wins.

When Koreans play, they don't complain about canon; they just play, and their skill with their more aggressive style is what gives them the victory. It's not a good rule/format.

i don't like too many canons, but I don't think adding a rule makes sense

koreans can still crush on this map, regardless of the rules, using speedling or aggressive marines, beating most canon heavy strats

I think aggressive play can still beat canons, its just that most people don't have the skill. The answer isn't to change the rules, but to keep the rules and allow for skill to compensate. The highest tier players are not consistently abusing canons early

changing the rules makes too many things difficult. When is a canon considered "not at the choke"? How many canons can PT make in the middle of the map? Can you add more canons if you close someone else, and not yourself? Can PZ no longer use "protect" build if they spawn next to each other?

Certain things are imbalanced, like PT next to each other who turtle, but that's just part of the luck of the draw on this map unfortunately. i think more problems arise from solving this with rules rather than gameplay adjustments. And even though many people say they like the rule change and would "come back", I doubt they would really come back and be "active". Canons alone don't make someone active or not...

Make an official SCW map called limit-cannon map and let players agree on using it themselves
