How to get out of D Rank?
« on: May 14, 2018, 10:14:37 pm »
Buenos Dias! So here is my situation, I play with my right hand(Left on keyboard and right on mouse) and I seem to have some problems getting out of D rank for 1 on 1 league. What can I do to move up? A lot of players are high above and a lot better. I did watch videos of fastest players to see how they play and replays and checkout fastest links. But still it doesn't help much. Something missing. Yes people will say "stop sucking" but this is just a troll answer or not so serious answer. Really hard to get better. I am having fun playing starcraft and I don't have problems losing or facing anyone. It's just hard to move up. Any tip?

Play defensively and go for a big base then move out and kill them maxed or take his choke and build proxy taking map control. Best to learn late game style so you can hold rush attacks leaving you with free wins in late game. And learn a good cheesy rush with each race.

Try this routine. Watch 5 replays before you start gaming. Download the reps from site. Then play 3 games vs a hard opponent then play 5 games vs someone your same rank. But play the similar rank with higher effort to overcome thm and rank up. Then after your games watch all reps of yourself for the day and note mistakes and compare to pro players. Notice things like psi at given time. It will take alot of practice. It doesn't just happen for most people. It takes a dedicated effort to train to play fastest league. But remember to keep your build standard until you reach a better rank. Hope that helped and good luck have fun :)

Listen here my friend, the first you gotta know is to read what counters what. Then u gotta use the clock-timer to make a idea of what the other guy is at and what they got at that very moment. If i were you, id actually play lowmoney, to get to know every units. Its weakness due to strenght. Do that and ull be great.

Knowledge, adaptability, familiarity and experience. Speed and mouse accuracy are not important if you don't have those 4 things. I am a great example of that. I am decently fast but I am not familiar with 1s and I lack experience for 1s. I do however have knowledge, which I for some reason rarely apply, and I have a tiny bit of adaptability.

Experience ties into the other three. The more you'll play the more different situations you'll encounter to acquire knowledge. With knowledge comes the information of what to do in these situations and how to adapt to them correctly. Then comes familiarity. Being familiar with the different sets of actions you have to go through in a given situation will open up brain power for smaller details in your play. At that point you'll be able to refine and improvise. And as a combination of all these things there is "game sense", which is a more instinctual aspect of your play.

Give us a situation and we'll tell you what you can do in that situation.

Just wanted to pop in and say that this is what this community should be about. This is one of the best threads I've ever seen from SCD FGT VGT UGL w/e.

I've seen a few people on this thread suggesting watching vods & streams, which is obviously a great way to learn indeed. So taking the opportunity to share my channel (fairly recent, started past fall) where I upload various SCW games and I even started casting games from replays (actually just one atm which I did earlier today). I'm not a top tier mega gosu, but i've been playing this game on and off for 18 years so I think mid tier players and lower can definitely learn a couple things.
