Season Tournament and the future of SCW
« on: September 17, 2019, 12:30:06 am »
As usual there will be a top 4 tournament for the winner of SCW13:

#1 vs Winner(#2 vs Winner(#3 vs #4))

Finals will be bo9, all other matches will be bo7.

After this season, I will be discontinuing SCW, due to lack of interest and activity. Some time in the future if there is real interest in running a season maybe we can give it a try, but right now unfortunately I don't think its there.

We had a good run; thirteen seasons of some of the most high-level play that FMP has seen in any league. Thanks to everyone who has kept this going, you know who you are. Its been an extraordinary experience running this show. I'll be throwing in an extra $75 for #3 spot in 1v1 this season to encourage this season to give us one more round of some decent games.

saddens me to see this point has been reached, but it is a harsh reality that interest has been at its lowest ever for a while now. Both UGL and SCW had a beautiful run.

Have to say thanks for Sword , thanks for players who made it active. Sad to see in last seasons people more interested to keep their points safe  instead make the league active. I saw lot of players (in the actual top 20) dodge me when i'm not even top level , really sad behaviours some shit personalities who prefer bm new players than encourage them to make the community bigger. Guys forgot anyone started with noob levels. Again thanks for all guys who made it possible and gave us some hype.

I hate dodgers, and it's unfortunate ... that scw ends up because of them ... I personally went online 1 week day and night looking to play, I only got one or two games. For the whole day of waiting I got bored of waiting for me to play only once a day ... where are the top players? come back damn do they fear the koreans ???

I've noticed SCR activity slowly declining in general lately, not just SCW. August and September have been particularly slow. Could have something to do with end of summer or any number of factors.

SCR is still in active development and hopefully future patches will attract more users. They have some exciting features in store.

I recently reached out to Blizzard again regarding sponsorship, but they currently don't have the resources available (they just approved a large sum of money for BSL), but said they want to keep in touch. Blizzard is truely fascinated and enthused about these community ran leagues and are working on tools to make them easier for us to manage.

I think you should continue to have regular seasons for fun, even if there isn't necessarily a cash value prize pool. Ladders are always fun to climb and compete in. Also, we could have a weekly $5-10 lottery/raffle for active participants (BSL does this), at least until activity picks up again.

Either way, your league and your decision.  :)

I think it's still a good idea to have the league seasons even if there are no prizes. I'm gonna keep training and hope someone starts some kind of SCR league season. I'm a noob but i'll continue to be active.
