Rich summed it up pretty well here.
I wanted to put emphasis on how fucking good Paul (Qaa/eViL) was.
1s and 2s, he was pretty much untouchable... All of his best SC friends tried so hard to get him to
get serious with SCD/VGT. He never really cared about the league.... but when he did play a decent amount of games he would win 80-90% of them in 1s, and even in 2s... he would partner some seriously skeptical partners that wouldn't have made the top 50 without games with Paul as a partner.... but Paul was somehow able to still hit a 70%+ mark on 2s with said partners.
I still haven't seen a stronger macro out of any FMP player in my time playing this game... at least 25 years now, on and off.

Gotta throw some more love on the entire Dt. clan.
In the times of FMP prime we had La. MaFia. xS. L]o[sT xG.
Dt. came from Europe to USEast to make their mark on the mid/late VGT seasons.
They had players like Quang and Thanh (Marine and his cousin Firebat)
Dt.SeveN (Julian) was my all time favorite 2s partner. These guys weren't playing the game like most of the FMP leaders at the time. Most of the top10-20 were studying replays and replicating strategies into the 5-10 minute mark. It was almost robotic. Dt came around and shook things up big time. They were micro pros, a whole new twist to the FMP competitve game at the time.
Saik was a part of that team at the time, but even he didn't shine the way some of these guys did. Euro had many stronger players than West/East did at that time.

I remember going to euro server to learn their styles and play as much as I could with them.
I joined a clan MHz and found a large group of players that were complete no-names in the US Servers / VGT and SCD. But on euro had major respect from gosu known players like Marine, Saik/hesiNg and so many more even dating back to players like MonGo.

A exciting era for Original StarCraft was the xS.ChangDaWei and Silent.KoKaNee rivalry, many were at the top with them but the only name that stopped these two powerhouses convincingly was LovelyRabbit.

xS.ChangDaWei wasn't the strongest player with a 65%-70% win rate during his championship runs but he would win many series against other top competitors to achieve the #1 rank.

Silent.KoKaNee reigned with a 80%-90% win rate for many seasons taking on xS. Pro] GanGstEr. Sc.T La. [VcK]. Nobody was stopping him from reaching K[Rank] due to his impressive Macro playstyle which he used to defend against all of the best Rushers in the League!
Majority of the player base were chasing the best "Early Game" label which resulted in many games under 10 minutes as the player with better Micro always took over their respected 1vs1 matches in full control. It was extremely rare to see someone turn it back around after losing out on the Early Game pressure play.
KoKaNee was able to stop the Mid Protoss build from players like xS.ChangDaWei Pro]DefJam- DiNkO Sonido xS.day Sky[VcK] along with beating GanGstEr.JoSe Zerg one that was considered the best.

LovelyRabbit entered the League during KoKaNee's prime and began changing views. The Korea was only asleep when every new spectator was starting to believe KoKaNee to be the best name around until LovelyRabbit won a few seasons topping every competitor every series earning the K[Rank] as well!
If you weren't around, he also had a 80%-85% win rate displaying a beautiful and gracious championship run versus the best!
I loved it because this was the turning point where Silent.KoKaNee decided to back off and new #1 Winners started being crowned! LovelyRabbit was a HERO for being the water to KoKaNee[aV] fire. 😂

It was a great decade and many champions are still around from this group, Pro]DefJam- GanGstEr.JoSe xS.Jake Silent.koN 👏

It's also a pleasure to see EviL + Momo + DiNkO as champions now! Things have changed now but the Greatest might be HyDrA[VcK] showcasing dominance over the years on SCW!
Adapting to the playstyles of Korea is a very complicated assignment but who other than the oldest Legend to lead the charge? 😂🫡
