Can we Revive SC?

Honestly I miss the old days, I hate what has become of everyone now adays. Does anyone have ideas to bring this community together again? There is so much fun left to be had and so many ways to keep pushing. I watch as my friends for years some since I was only 14 years old leaving this game one by one, But NOT because of life but because of the toxicity and drama.

I'd like to think between tournaments and some form of outreach we could bring it back. Hell I havent played in it feels like forever.... Mainly due to the enormous opposition I get from just trying to play a game. Clearly some people feel the same as every now and then I see forum posts on people trying to relive the old days or find new strats. This game was a huge part of my life as a kid and has such an enormous amount of fond memories paired with it, I really hate to say good bye to it.

I remember coming back to AOE2 from 2013 - 2018 and watched it grew from about 5k active users to around 100k.

I think twitch had a huge impact on the growth of AOE2. Their website (aoezone.net) would show live streamers on the side panels. This helped a few caster/streamers slowly grow their viewership and eventually lead to a full time job. I know we got a few guys like Tyler G and casty caster, but not much recognition and it's only on youtube.

They are now hosting $10k+ tourneys almost every month now. It wouldn't be possible without dedicated streamers/caster and a good list of pro players.

I just seen first hacker today in LONG TIME during a 3v3 pub game. Player used unlimited resources hack and multi hack. Also, he drop hacked us at end because he was losing game. If hacks are beginning to be released, does this mean things are going to shift in some way? I'm wondering....

Early game, Ling or Cannon rush but I doubt anyone can successfully do this nowadays anymore.

what about making an sc2 tournament on the sc2 fmp map? put up a prize and make a push towards transitioning bw over to sc2.
